Featured Replies

hey Jay did u dig out that changer 4 me yet m8?

Ill just check the rides section now

rides working fine here m8, you sure the file ur uploading isnt too big (over 130k)?

Clarkey - Kenwood KDC-C10

Can't figure out why rides aint working, file is only 50k, weird thing is it won't let me delete either????

I have found in the past that as soon as I get one failure during uploading to the rides then nothing works for me. (adds/deletes etc)

hmm, the rides thing is wierd.

As for the Cd changer got no idea if it would work or not. But from memory ill describe the connector:

there the shield covering all this then the pin arrangement looks like:

..

....

....

Did you say where you lived, cos it might be best if we pop over and try it if you aint too far

The socket on the changer is a circular one that takes 13 pins - have you got the lead from head unit to changer??

I'm in swindon mate, where are you?

Craig/Nico - any ideas with the rides probs?

Jay

ok, yeah we have the lead from the head unit, we're in Wolverhampton, and seeing that I dont know where swindon is im off to find out now smile.gif

Wiltshire mate smile.gif

Total Distance: 97.5 Miles

Total Time: 1 hr 55 min

unfortunatly we cant be arsed driving 2 hours each way to get there especially in the gas guzzling zed wink.gif. Couldnt you have lived in the staffs swindon biggrin.gif thats only 20 mins away.

But anyway personally I dont see why the kenwood changers shouldnt be interhcangable between different head units in the range. But best to get an experts opinion first though.

So if Bob or any other ICE guru is here then heres the prob:

Have Kenwood R705i head unit, P705 DSP, the cd changer that goes with it is the C705, but this was nicked, they left the bracket and lead. Do you reckon the C10 changer will work in the place of the 705 on that head unit?

Also bob can you get replacement remotes for kenwoods? The origonal remote is standard with the package but it wasnt in the car when we got it so i can only presume it was lost of nicked etc.. But a remote would be cool cos its quite a reach from the seats in the zed (says Mr Lazy biggrin.gif). the origonal remote part is "Kenwood remote control unit CA-R3".

Thanx all

PS - Jay once these questions are answered if things are looking good on the compatability side then we'll send u some cash (ok so it might not be cash but money tongue.gif) for the machine and postage
