Murky Rad water

Tinny rattle coming from top end of engine

Water/ condensation from both exhaust pipes

Overheats

Cuts out after warmed up

Thankyou in advance for your contribution!

Might not be serious matey.

Im no expert but is there oil in the water and water in the oil (goeey shite)?

The murky rad water is well... murky rad water, try flushing it out and replacing with clean stuff - also add some water wetter from Delta Oils (do search)

Is that a tinny rattle or tiny rattle, try changing to some slightly thicker oil - I (personally) think the 0/40 slightly too thin.

Cutting out when warmed up sound like a PTU problem

This is the PTU, try and blag a known good one and try it on your car

Not sure on the overheating thing but try flushing out the shitty water and seeing if things improve.

Hi Senna,

Thanks for your reply the previous owner said there was oil in the water, I looked in the rad, it looked like dirty water to me not emulsified and a little greasy to the touch. There was no water in the oil.

Hi,

If anybody else has any ideas they would be appreciated.

Cheers

Murky water not a prob so long as no oil in there. if very old and not flushed for a while will contribute to overheating. Flush till clear(ish) and replace. If very bad, flushing may cauise probs with heater core (dislodges crap which gets stuck in in skinny places such as heater core)

Tinny rattling from top end may just be car needs a run. Or try thicker oil. Check it's not something stupid ( like keys) rattling.

You'll getwater condensation from both pipes but should go when warmed up. U sure its not white smoke ( means oil being burnt - possible turbo /cylinder probs)

Z's run hot as a matter of course. What do u mean overheating? If needle on guage goes above 9pm position there is aproblem. R U losing coolant? any leaks/steam? flush rad.

cuts out afterwarmed up. This is more serious. Could be air idle adj reqd, or a whole number of suff. Any more details - like doe sit run ok at tickover but cutout when you press the throttle. Or is it ok when u rev it but conks on tickover?

try a search on this and TT.net forums. Very few problems are new ones.

Hope it helps
