Is the engine exactly the same in the 2?

And is it then just in the autobow where the power (bhp figures) difference lies

Depends which turbo's you were upgrading too. Auto or Manual, most match upgraded cams with upgraded tub's.

ok thanks im thinking of rebuilding a engine i was just wondering if to go for a manual or auto engine as i will get a manual conversion. but i would change tubs and probably the cams like you say, so there wouldn't be any differance then?

sorry for hi-jack and thanks for the info

I've got auto turbos in my manual car. The acceleration is noticably quicker due to the boost kicking in at lower revs. It makes it a lot more usable driving around cities and the only sacrifice is a bit of top speed.

you did'nt have standard Manual tubs before though, to compare, you had Stage 1/2 tubs ?

I've driven many of both (manual and converted manual), and cant say I noticed any difference, but then I've also driven Stock zed's that spool and accelerate noticably quicker and slower than others, and all appear to be running correctly.

When You Say Top Speed Do You Mean The Accelaration At Top End (i.e. At 60 - 100 Somewhere) Or Do You Mean It Doesn't Do 180mph Lol

Dave, there's a bit of a saga but they were actually about the same as stock manual turbos.

Bird, I meant the outright top speed - it won't do 180 any more - but that's fine by me 'cos that's not very usable anyway. By the way, mate, I know what you are going through with your car. I've had to have new turbos and the engine is currently being rebuilt :(

whos doing it?

rebuiding his engine,
