word up.

and no i havent driven either, i don't need to to know which is the better car in stock form!

I think it depends what criteria you're using to measure "better". If "better" means "faster", then yeah it's a better car than the stock zed. And full respect is due: it's a great piece of engineering, and it'd demolish most performance cars available today, never mind 20 years ago.

However if "better" has anthing to do with style, comfort, having a convertible (or semi- if you've got targas like me), or just looking incredibly cool... or innumerable other subjective issues for that matter, then the zed opens a giant can of whupass all over it.

The 6R4 has two things going for it: speed and handling... and that's it. Now this is a Z32 forum, so clearly most of us care about these things to a not insignificant degree, but also clearly enough they're not as overriding a concern as they'd need to be in order to want to drive a 6R4.

Totally agree with AndyP's comments. The 6R4 is a legend and was from an era when rallying was at its best. I'd not pay that for it, but you can't really shun a car like that.

The V6 engine in the 6R4 was the basis for the unit in the XJ220.

Last bit is exactly what I was going to say......

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

m0n1xX3r you are definitely right, see my previous post which i quote below ;)

whether we would prefer z over a 6r4 or vice verse is irrelevant and opinion. which is the quicker, better handling of the two is undeniably the 6r4.

it looks shit

it is shit

but it is a classic, and has to be appreicated for that fact alone

The 6r4's engine was a rover 3.5 v8 with two of the cylinders taken off and the rally version was also the engine they based the XJ220's on, it was a slightly modified version.

Oooh ya bugger!!! Beat me too it!!! Yep, same engine as used in the XJ220 only with Twin Turbo's bolted on.... The 6R4 is an awsome piece of kit... Ok, looks crap but it weighs bugger all and still kicks ass in the rally scence beating off most Suburu's, Evo's, Darriens, and Audi's.... :hyper:
