seriously though, why do certain people feel the need to make snide comments like that? have i offended you by not owning a zed? Where does it say owners club on this site? Not that I have to justify my being here to you, but I’m here because I have an interest in zeds and plan to buy one one day. Now aside from the ugly tupperware, a 6R4 is one of THE iconic pieces of rally hardware. It's up there with the Audi Quattro, the RS200 and possibly the Lancia Stratos.

Many moons ago they acctually produced a V8 metro the engine sat behind the driver and I saw one at a show. It looked OK and quite cool. But then again so did the Morris Ital ??????? at the time. £26,000. basically for a body kit and a V6 engine. Maybe some decent springs thrown in. but what else are you getting FFS its a METRO. :headvswal

time it takes to realise this is the most gipping looking car ive ever seen! 3.2s

used to be a class B rally car before they changed the rules to make the sport safer (ie to lower the fatality rate :( ). looks hideous but unbelievably quick.

I hope they have improved the handling on this model as I had a 1.1 Metro and I took a sharp corner to quick once and got it on 2 wheels which was fookin scarey, let alone doing that in a 3 litre Metro.

Totally agree with AndyP's comments. The 6R4 is a legend and was from an era when rallying was at its best. I'd not pay that for it, but you can't really shun a car like that.

 

The V6 engine in the 6R4 was the basis for the unit in the XJ220.
