ok im not familar with xl documents but a friend has a pc with xp windows , and is trying to download a file ,,its an xl document , his pc doesnt have microsoft office does he need it to download this file .

 

He usually downloads his files at the internet cafe but he has his own pc now , does he need microsoft office to open this file ,, is my qestion ..?cheers in advance to any help !! :confused:

I'd say yes, he needs Excel to open an Excel file. Having said that.... just Googled 'Excel Viewer' and there were a couple of freeware programs that might let him open Excel files, but he wouldn't be able to edit or save them by the looks.

 

I've got a mate that might be able to source a copy of Office for him though. Let me know and I'll see what I can do...

Yep he sure does...unless he downloads the viewer from MS...
