Put on some 70's RayBan Aviators, grow a huge moustache and add your own commentary and sounds - Sorted!

You can get a sound card for a fiver if you're not fussed about Dolby Digital rear entry sound effects :x:

Just needs the sound driver software installing then.

It must be an unusual old card if XP doesn't find it automatically.

Best way is to open it up and see what model of card it is and do a search for the drivers but if you're not a techie then forget it...

LOL

Depends if the sound card is seperate or built into the motherboard.

Either way it's a pain in the arse cos it won't be easy to find unless it happens to say SoundBlaster on it or something obvious which I doubt as XP would have discovered it

You need someone local who knows what they're looking for to open it up.

Easiest way on your own is to buy a sound card and plug it in then install the disk it comes with LOL

So after all that you do need surround sound LOL

why not download something like software sandra lite and it will tell you what sound card is installed and wether it is onboard or a slot type

Once you have that found out just download the drivers and et voila

If your computer is as you bought it, (ie. you haven't added anything) you can go to the manufacturers website (e.g Packard Bell/Dell etc) enter the serial number which will be on the machine somewhere, normally on a sticker. Then the website will tell you exactly what your computer is made up of. Check the sound card and it may have a link to download a driver. If not type the name of the card and the word "driver" into a search and download it from wherever it takes you. Then simply install and your off!

Hope this helps
