cant wait. Tbh i didnt think i would get insurance on one of these with me bein comming up for 21 in june but it is cheaper than my 323 ave got atm! :)

just have to get myself a wee cheap car to get me to work and tht throught the week.

its all bruces fault tht i love these cars :P

so u will see me at one of the meets at some point it will be a surprise :tongue:

wat are the most faults with these motors so i know wat to look for?

By the way dont get complacent with the insurance. I am only a young pup like yourself. I bought mines in December (21 year old) and was getting quotes of £800-£1000 FC but when I actually phoned them up and ensured that all the details were right they bumped prices to £3k and other stupid quotes. I finally ended up with £1700 FC which I am happy with cos it is the only car that I pay money for.

i agree with Dave G. insurance is a ball ache with these cars im 21 and had the car when i was 20 so insurance was mental. £2700 in the end.

have a rake thru the site and see what common faults are. mine has ran like a sweety (for a 15 yo car that is) check out my rides section theres a list of some of the stuff ive done sonce i got it.

I ended up with a company called One Call who are part of Zurich. Cant remember how I found them out but I will have a look for the number sometime this week.

 

You will be able to get cheaper insurance but I guarantee that it will actually be void. Insurance companies find it hard to pin point the exact model. Keep trying though and you should get one.

 

Insurance is crazy for people my age if you want any sort of decent power car. Anything highly stolen, modified, crashed a lot (which the Z isnt apparently), over 250ish hp and the premiums go sky high.

 

Cheapst I got for a WRX subraru (would never buy one now though) was 2500 and only a few companies would insure me. And I dont know how many subarus I have ripped apart in the Z.

Few of my mates use Adrian Flux they will take on modded motors and young drivers but when you hit 25 get a part time traders policy will save you loads as long as you don't have a Impreza WRX for some reason :)

cheers dave, have to have a look 4 them, i got a good qoute from sabre £1400 but that was third party only, would rather pay the extra and go full comp. i wouldnt say the zeds cheap to insure but i think its cheaper than a lot of smaller engine cars, i remember trying to insure my r5 GTT fooking laugh that was

Agree with you there, I found it easy to insure my r5GTT a few years ago but trying to do rs turbos now is crazy.
