After the success of Ferrybridge, How about a UK Annual meet.

Dont know if its been done yet but I think Ferrybridge is the biggest collective of Zeds ever. :)

So it got me thinking about how good a full UK meet would be.

Dont know if it'd be possible, but sort of summertime.

I know the JAE is on and most will go to that, but this would be at a different date and would be Zeds only.

I *believe* Sheffield *ahem* is in the centre of the country, fortunately for me :) Theres a HUGE car park that the M1 flyover looks down on, so we could see about getting that. Make a day of it and get Zed traders stands, burger vans etc.

If another location was picked Id deffo be up for it - reet enjoyed the ferrybridge meet

my old car club used to have an agm at gaydon car museum, it was central and a fab day out

Sounds great!

Nottingham is quite central.

If it happens, don't all clear of to some shopping centre just before I get there. (I think it was the NE lads afraid I was going to 'boss' the place  )

Hey Jay,

I'm looking into various locations to do this anyway bud ;)

It's been on the cards for 6 months, Its getting there slowly, so if anyone in and around the midlands area, knows of a place that is easily accesable from the main motorways M1,M6, A1 etc, please PM it to me.

Obviously a secnic place.......Old Hall, Castle would be better than just a car park, so, let me know!

Cheers All

Itd be a fair drive for some but wherever its held - locals could enquire about b&b's, hotels & Secure overnight parking etc.

lol, cheers Rich - I must learn to type faster.

The car park is at meadowhall :) Good for those who wanna drop the wife off with their credit cards.

Somewhere scenic would be cool tho.

How about Bolsover Castle - M1 J29ish I think.

...they tell me Ipswich is the centre of the UK - Always nice and sunny too.

If a meet is organised, can it be outside of school holidays. My wife's a teacher so we are always away when a JAE is on and the East Anglian meet is over the Easter Weekend - so I'll be in Cornwall... If the meet can be on an ordinary weekend - all the better.

Good luck

Jack

what about all the people who love 100 miles + from the M1 :wack:

All those that love  100 miles form the m1 will have further to travel :(

Unfortunately - theres not going to be a location that suits everyone.

Im happy to travel to wherever but fortunately for me I wouldnt have to drive as far as some.

The Z Club do a "Back to Basics" weekend (now that JAE has got too big), if everyone turned up to that it would be a very big Z meet.

I think if you could find the right site, which would also be suitable for people who may have to bring wifey and kids, it would be good. You may also consider a site with a campsite nearby for those inclined, not as tho' you could get much gear in a Zed for it.

This is just going to be a 300zx.co.uk meet only bud

I say an overnighter at Billing or similar kinda place

oh, i dunno, got change of clothes for me and the mrs, a tent, mini fridge and 2 crates of beer in the boot for jae 2005 - dont need to carry anything else!

Ooohh like the sound of that.

Me too.

So that's proposed, seconded and carried. :duffer:

Don't blame me if it's a good drive from you - I don't make the rules!

looks very pretty, but is a nature reserve really the best place for up to 100 gas guzzling zeds???

whats the parking like etc?

I will tell you a really nice place. MATLOCK. Bikers go there and its a really nice peaceful place with the river running through. Matlock Bath is just round the corner and Its very central. I have been there a few times when I had my bike and there is plenty to do shops a fairly nice aquarium holograph museum pubs cafe's gulivers world for the kids. NICE.....

OH yeah and you can go on the cable car up to the caves and thats well good in there?

Rutland Water is a beautiful place - I'd be up for that one.

But, if the geographical centre of England is Meriden (I'm only saying - I don't wanna upset any of our Scottish brethren), may I suggest Coombe Abbey just down the road. They do hold car shows/club meets there and you can take over an entire field if needs be - plenty of room for cars/stands/greasy spoon vans etc. There is a bar, a kiddies play area and loads of grounds to go for a wander round, and a fookin' big mediaeval abbey (great backdrop for photos).

I know this 'cos I got married there and it was great

Billing is perfect as it has a fun fare, camping, night club and lots of space.

It does cater for lots of clubs and all weekend shows, and its right on my doorstep
