Hi All,

I know I should have posted this in the Help and Advice section, but I am really desperate to get this sorted.

As most know my car is up for sale, only now she has decided that she doesn't want to be sold :p .

The auto box has decided that it no longer wants to change from 2nd to 3rd when I am tootling, but when you use the kick down it changes into 3rd without any hesitation!!!

I'm hoping it's a speed sensor, and was just wondering if anyone else had this problem?

Thanks

not going into 3rd is usually an indication of a goosed box, sorry to say it. Your speedo and steering working allright? If so Its doubtful to be a speed sensor problem. Bad TPS setting is a possibility though. You checked the ATF, does it smell burnt?

Ahh....now you say that my HICAS light keeps on coming on...took it to Nissan (For all the good they are!) and they said I needed a new sensor on my steering rack and Power Steering Fluid Pot!

I have never had any problems with the box before, but just to make sure where do I find the ATF?

Ta

Nissan dealers...UUURGHH!! Are you close to any of the good mechanics?

tbh the HICAS thing sounds unrelated, thats usually slightly low fluid causing that, of course it could be a bad sensor though, either way it wont affect the gearbox.

The autobox dipstick can be found behind the engine on the drivers side, next to the brake cylinder.

Yeah checked that this morning, all seemed ok.

I'd see a zed specialist then, they will be able to stick it on a conZult and see if theres any bad sensor readings.

did you check the autobox levels whilst car was running and up to temp?

check TPS voltage but if it was fine before i doubt it will be out
