Hill street blues?

reason i asked ive just bought series 1 on dvd (due out monday for any fans )

and as you do i wondered what became of some of the actors, when i suddenly realised how long ago this progg' was on

the sarge' who used to say "lets be careful out there" has been dead since 1983, i vaguely remember him disappearing from hsb and someone else taking over, one bird i used to remember as fit, then i looked how old she is NOW

1983 i THINK it finished,

(just checked it was '85)

My favourite characters were Det. Mick Belker/ Bruce Weitz,

and Lt, Howard Hunter/ James Sikking.

Jeez, I had forgotten all about that show !

Apparently the station used for filming was shut down in the late nineties and is now a University for the Illinois Police or something.

Alan.....

Start : 1981

End : 1987

146 episodes of 45 min

First broadcasting : 15 January 1981

Creator(s) : Michael Kozoll & Steven Bochco

Producer(s) : Michael Kozoll, Steven Bochco, Jeffrey Lewis & David Milch

Music : Mike Post

I used to watch it every week, it was the first of it's kind, with the 'Camera everywhere' type filming, as used later on shows like NYPD Blues, ER etc

It was gritty, and in-your-face, and it wasn't scared to show topics that hadn't been shown before.

Sergent Phil Esterhaus, was played by Michael Conrad, who was replaced by Sergent Lucy Bates, played by Betty Thomas, in, as you say, 1983.
