Panel FIlter or Induction Kit

Hello Again!!!

Good Friday all!!!

Ok - do i buy a new panel air filter or induction kit for my TT? Which is better? Will i lose any low down torque with an induciton kit?

Also those Rubber pipes and the front of the engine 4 pipes? I see a lot of peeps have replaced these with S/S pipes - (or chrome??) Can anyone tell me what are? do they serve any purpose rather than looking better?

Thanks

Ed

Definatly Induction kit, allow the engine to breath properly.

The Hardpipes replace the stock pipes which start to crack with age. They are bling but I suppose they also prevent pipe expansion at higher boost levels.

Some jap tuners disagree with induction kits eg Mines and leave the standad air box inplace eg on skylines and ARC do the same to the nsx just with a after market filter panel fitted. ARC do there own air box for some cars eg nsx .Dont know about the Z32 ive never seen any tests. As with the bling intercooler hard pipe kit i dont think they do anything other than look shiney .The standard nissan intercooler pipe is superb quality pipe, enginered to take a lot more pressure than standard ive seen them take 30+ psi no problem i have seen split samco pipe before.

Yes Arc do a replacement Induction unit for the Z32. Costs several hundred pounds. Its must larger than the Stock housing.

Greg had one fitted to his, replaced it with an apexi !

Rolling roads have proven induction kit advantages, and replacement panel filters will not provide enough air at higher bhp applications.

Inductions kits can have there disadvantages in other cars, where the induction kit sits inside the Engine bay without heatshielding, unlike the 300zx.
