The wife has got a blender from America.

 

It has a two pin plug.

 

Can we just get an adaptor that makes it three pin or do we need do do something about the voltage (ie US - 110 volts, UK 240 - volts)

 

Any ideas?

Yes, you do need to adjust the voltage in some way, otherwise it'll be a toaster not a blender ! ;)

Check the back of the unit.

There might be a small selector switch or it may say something like "Voltage=100-240" if your lucky.

 

If not, maybe it looks nice. :D

This made me chuckle...I do like sarcasm!!!

Once you've sorted the voltage issue out have a look at the Hertz value as I believe these are different in the US and UK (50Hz vs 60Hz if memory serves me). This isn't a big issue if there aren't any moving parts but I remember an old tape deck I used to have which played quite a bit faster when I took it to the US ...
