ive just to say how delighted i am with the british police force.. i was overtaking a truck earlier this morning and while i had my foot down i left it there (like you do).. anyway i saw blue lights from way back .. so i slowed down .. they came screaming up behind and pulled me in.. got me out of the car and then gave me the riot act .. to which i accepted i was in the wrong .. they took me in the car showed me the video of me doin 105 in a 50 :x: :x: and told me they could book me there and then for 95 no problems .. BUT .. they both ride bikes at weekends and appreciated what the car is capable of .. had a real larf with them and got told to to a sensible speed (yes sir no sir) .. and what let off scott free and escorted for about 3 miles .. what a GREAT day :dance: :dance: :dance:

i think its because they said they were an armed response vehicle ... glad as hell it wasnt ministry

105 in a 50, doubling the speed limit, that's an instant 12 month ban, and they you you get away with it???

no idea bud .. i thought all the top plod motors had it fitted .. this was a BMW 5 series .. i think .. but im not up BM specs.. tatty as fook though .. half the jam sandwich stickers were pealing at places

you say your experience as a driver, gives you more ability to catch an out of control car, yet you had a serious accident, this shows ot ALL are recoverable.

 

As for only a danger to yourself, what about the drivers of the lorries? any idea how much longer it takes to move or stop a lorry?

 

over double the speed limit is plain stupidity fella, there is NO way you can justify it, no way at all.......

lorry changed lane

animal run out

 

they are just a fraction of the things that could have resulted in a serious accident.

 

as an ex racing driver, you should be aware of all facts, and as such, be aware its NOT safe to do so.

 

The fact you also never saw the police car, implies you didnt know the full state of the road.....does it?

 

we just have to agree to disagree on this one, you think its fine, i still think that same as my first post, im sorry but thats the way it is.

 

Im also sorry for your loss fella, but please learn from that tragic time, and not put an innocent family in the same hurt you went through...

I do agree with you bud .. lots of things can happen which are out of our control .. im not saying i was in the right .. just explaining that the only person at risk was myself .. as for the 2 lorry drivers i done that at a sensible speed .. always do coz of the turbulence they cause when u get up aside.. i dont want to argue with anyone .. i come here for a natter with fellow Zedders to share an interest.. i admit i was in the wrong but was greatly releived i hadnt been charged .. i REALLY feel for you with your loss .. a loss however it happens isnt pleasant and causes no end of heartache.. as for not seein the police .. i cant believe i never saw them either .. thats usualy the first thing i look for in me mirrors.. we all have our oppinions .. thats what makes us individuals .. and i dont see the point of a row on here

Drink ? at a meet? .. but i'll be driving LOL .. sure bud .. so glad the missus is insured on the Z she can drive home lol ...might even make a welsh meet if they actualy have any as me n the missus go over to ireland a lot on the ferry
