I was out in the car early hours of this morning, up comes a skyline .. sits behind me egging me on .. so i thought what the heck im driving an NA if i lose .. no hardship.. anyway he goes and i plod behind for a sec till i get to about 4.5/5k .. i slowly and i mean slowly passed him and just kept goin .. went on for about a mile or so, i backed off coz i saw a garage and you know how thirsty zeds are .. he pulls in behind and we have a chatter about the cars and his face was a picture when i said "oh no this aint a twin turbo its only an N/A.. made my day as an N/A driver, the GTST only had mild mods .. filter, blow off , chip and induction

Now this has put me on a mission to find out whats been done to mine, it was imported with loads of goodies even had a turbo timer .. why i dont know .. but when Martyn had it at the Zen garage and took it out fora run after he said its damn quick for an N/A.. its got late injectors and a diff CAS unit from what i was told plus a few other bits

 

so has anyone got links on what can be done to an NA so i can find out exactly what has been done

Are you sure it's not a TT engine? I know of one guy who bought his car as a NA & he believed it was that until I looked under the bonnet & saw two turbos, LOL!

 

His front bumper was the NA type & the speedo had no boost gauge!

So would a TT beat a GTST? I dont know much about the skylines, just that there are GTS and GTS for the R33.

its deffo an NA . i have a TT in my garage .. gtst is only about 250bhp standard .. its a 2.5 single turbo if i remember right

It's the gtr v-spec that's the fast one, i got quoted 2k to insure a r33 vspec.

Yeah I had a guy take me out in an Evo 8 FQ 260, thought it would impress me :rolleyes:

 

It was quick enough, but still felt that the Z was much better.

 

I didnt realise that the GTS was only 250hp. Maybe I could have insured one after all (tried a few GTRs with crazy prices). I am away to try one now.

Yes a 300ZX TT would beat any GTS-t variants as they are just sub 7 sec cars which if you look at official records the NA should be able to keep up with. Just to run through the GTSs that I can remember there's:-

 

R32 GTS 2.0l non turbo

R32 GTS-t 2.0l turbo

R32 GTS-4 2.0l turbo 4WD

 

R33 GTS 2.0l non turbo

R33 GTS25 2.5l non turbo

R33 GTS25-t 2.5l turbo

Only the R33 GTS25-t is 250bhp. The older R32 GTS-t/GTS-4 are around the 200BHP mark while the R34 GT are 280BHP but alot slower then the R34 GTRs with the same power... though I stand corrected if I get it wrong! :duffer:

Personaly i think the Zeds look and drive tons better .. ive had both .. but im well chuffed that my N/A offed a 2.5turbo .. see.. who needs turbos :dance: :dance:

When i first saw 2Fast 2furious all i wanted was a skyline. When you actually look into it the only one worth having is a GTR.

 

Also insurance companies hear "Skyline" and run for the hills. The Z is a much better machine and only insurance group 18 for the Twin Turbo. What a car!
