help plz, on the *$%@| paypal stuff.... :)

hi guys,

as a few already know i opened a Paypal account, for the DVD stuff, to make a transfer 4 you easier... now, following, i get this by the last one who transfered (ChrisD):

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Upgrade Your Account to Accept this Pending Payment Secure Transaction

The ability to accept credit or debit card funded payments is reserved for Premier and Business accounts. To accept this pending payment, please upgrade your account now.

If you upgrade your account, you will receive a range of premium features in addition to the ability to accept unlimited credit or debit card payments. The fees on incoming payments are low - just 3,4% + €0,35 EUR to receive payments. If you deny this pending payment, you may continue to receive money from PayPal members who use a bank account or their PayPal balance to fund the payment. To continue to receive payments for free, make sure that the people who pay you fund their payments with their PayPal balance or with a bank account.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

wth do i need more? I won't upgrade! Is this due because ChrisD made a payment a different way through Paypal? I'm lost in that sh* ;s

thnx for help!

cheers,

bs

think I found myself an answer:

Q: Can Personal accounts receive credit or debit card payments?

A: No. In order to reduce the cost of processing expensive credit card transactions associated with accounts that do not pay fees, the ability to receive credit or debit card payments is reserved for Premier and Business accounts.

Any credit or debit card payment will be held as "Unclaimed" until the recipient accepts it by upgrading to a Business or Premier account, or denies it (if payment is denied, the funds will be returned to the sender's PayPal account).

Personal accounts may still accept non-credit or debit card funded payments though limits will apply to certain payment types.

na, forget it, nothing is for free..... if it would be free 100%, it's useless to get different account types then. I guess that the payment to my pal has been done over a credit card or god knows, and THIS special transfer is in another class again. Well the upgrade itself may be gratis, but you'll get fees or -% on later transactions... i just wait he sends me a 100% paypal transaction, as the guys did before...

somewhat complicated that paypal... just need to get used to. What I hate, there is nothing 100% clear by the beginning. U just discover (and pay of course) step by step - like. HATE THAT :xxx: :xxx:

well, we'll see :) thnx for response anyway ;)

3.4% I believe. Pretty good standard rate, its what everybody pays and people account for it with their prices, can't expect it to be completely free.

I Was'nt even aware they did that free personal version.

Hey mate, i run an ebay business selling car audio and have a paypal business account. To upgrade to premier it is free but accepting credit card (as opposed to direct transfers from someone elses paypal account to yours) payments does carry a larger fee. Its worth it though if you take a lot of payments as many people won't have a paypal balance and it takes up to 10 days to pay money into your account.

It is a damn way cheaper than worldpay FFS .. no merchant acccount ... damn good value .. cheap as chips ....

well, you may be right, but for me it's totaly uninterestening... cause first, i don't get much payments, and second, the payments are minimal values... it's just to cover my rough fees. So i don't do any commerce with, thought it could be easier for some, so i did...

thnx for answers guys ;) appreciate :)
