There will be 1 run per car (Normal is 3). Apparently, they have new software that doesnt require 3 runs to get a smooth curve.

Why are they experts??? they just have the toold to do it.

its not a black art...and yes i refuse to pay 70 to 100 quid an hour for mapping.

For the price of half a days mapping i can have the kit to do it myself and can then tweak it myself (oo err) everytime i make another mod!!! jobs a guddun.

there experts because most of them have a long background in tuning cars, most have paid to go on training courses with the likes of Apexi and HKS etc

 

i know quite a few people who think its easy and live to regret "having a go"

 

trust me mate paying 2-300 squid of well worth spending and if you pick a good one they can get every bhp out of your car without putting it in danger!!

Probably, "D'OH", then "Woo hooo" rebuild here we come with forgies, bigger turbos and bigger injectors and start again!!!! :nana2: :nana2:

 

Kirbz, the only way it will run lean once i've got a wideband in is if one of the cylinders is running lean due to a duff injector, and none of the tuners will pick that up as they,only monitor afr's from the exhaust, they dont sit a sensor on the exahust of each cylinder.

 

the reason i've not touched the fuelling yet is due to not having a wideband, i've only fiddeld with the ignition timing and results so far indicate thats pretty good, dont forget the PFC has a knock reading on it so its not like i was doing it blind!!

Also from today it seems that i have a buggered wastegate actuator(s). Boost is very unstable over 4500 rpm. I wasnt too sure if it was a misconfigure boost controller so when i got back I put some 0.8mm mig jets onto the pipe and bypassed the controller. Mig jets of that size should have produced a massive boost but all i got was 6.5psi..... they are fooked so thats something else to add to the shopping list.

 

At least i know now. This TDI place is really good!!!
