i thought it was a valve to purge the nos lines of any trapped air. So before a race the lines are purged to ensure they are full.

the colour is caused by illuminating the cloud with an led, it is letting out some of the nos ("purging" it) before using it to boost, and so getting (cooler?) nitrous into the intakes

will probably be corected as to the details, but you get the jist

oh yeah and it looks cool and i want one!

oh oh yeah, and because it looks cool, it is now available as just a purge, without actually linking it to the engine, in either nos or co2.

ive seen a white zed in a mag with NOS and it had purge spraying out of the scuttle trim in front of the windscreen

not where id put it but it still looked cool

if its available without needing NOS i can see plenty of chaved up saxos and novas having a dabble..........shame that

yer without the nos connected its kind of along the lines of huge exhaust trims and having a weedy pipe underneth.. or those stupid light up washer jet things!!!!

but if the nos is connected then they do look UBER cool IMHO and love one (plus the NOS)

You could easily do it with compressed air and an LED, same idea but without it being plumbed into your engine. But it would be totally pointless.

And technically yes to purge is to let any air out of the system if using NOS so that the complete sytem has the NOS through it.

Let me all tall you about nos.... after weeks of searching ... and looking into this.. I am the GURU.. ok maby not..

but a purge kit is you say above .. it primes the main system alloying you to have full psi available to you when you need it.. ie at a drag strip etc...

You can not buy nos in differant colours..... nos is just a white cloud.. it would be like saying i want some pink oxygent today sir.... lol

The led lights illuminate this cloud.. to what ever colour you have your led set to ...

this is just a show off thing... and people believe it to look cool. anyway because it has this "cool" looking effect the wise people of nos decided they can sell just a purge kit.. (waste of nos) to chavs etc... and it never even goes in the engine.. its just wired and connected up to these tiny valves which spray.. stupid i know.. when you conisder it cost around 50£ to fill a bottle ... anyway hope that helps...

most show cars actually use co2 and not nos as its far cheaper and they can get the same effect.

yup thats what i was advised to do,even though i will have the nos plumbed into the engine i was advised if i want a purge system just to you co2(cheaper) lol

that mean you keep the nos system for the enigne and have a seperate system completely for the purging..? gets the looks but heading down the chav route a bit isnt it?

i thought about that too,but if i have the purge hitting the intercoolers i may just get away with it

althought the fake purge kits are out there just found ou how much theyre are, and to be honest could think of better things to do with £250!!!

if your putting nos in your car get a purge kit... only because it does help alot...

you get the full psi in your system ready to launch...

just dont waste it purging at every traffic light like a young chav.. pmsl.

Put it this way I wouldnt bother with it. Dont really care much for NOS or purge, but I can see the point in NOS. Getting a purge in a separate system to the NOS would be extra heavy. After all the Co2 or NOS whatever you use to purge (if separate to existing NOS into engine system) adds a lot of weight due to the bottle. If you go for a small bottle, you will be filling it all the time and if you go for a larger bottle its too heavy.

Save the money and get a private dance or whatever people do in their spare time.
