insurance query

Hi, if you have a 2 car classic policy (zed would be 2nd car).

Can you sell the 1st car to a family member but carry on running your insurance on it as you would be car sharing with the other family member.

They would need to get insured - Im aware of that but can 2 people insure the same car and would it affect a classic policy?

To the best of my knowledge, two people cannot insure the same car. I'd guess it's an anti-fraud thing, if the car got stolen then it could be claimed twice.

However, it may be possible for one person to insure the car, and the other to be covered to drive it. Need to speak to an expert though.

cheers bud.

Ill give insurance a bell and ask them.

Hi Mate

Dunno if you have spoke to your insurer yet?

You cant insure the same car twice as it against the law.

But

some insurance companies(if you have both pols with them) will allow for you to duplicate your ncb onto the second car so both cars can have max ncb

if your spouse or partner is taking over the other car and you are just changing the current insurance to the new car they can sometimes duplicate the bonus and allow them the same ncb too.

Dunno if this will help
