Right,first no taking the proverbial!-but due to me doing what I done,i.e.the engine swap,was thinking if there could be a 'market' for it?

Now I use the term loosely-what I mean to say,if I were to start at home doing the conversion,would:

A-I get enough work!

B-It be viable financially,ie, length of time etc.

I suppose it would all boil down to level of interest,but I know I would actually enjoy doing it,plus making a living?

I'd be interested. Very interested - all comes down to money though!

Instead of having to spend all that time on the conversions in your garage why don't you make conversion kits for our cars?

 

You could point customers to a good engine and tranny supplier and then you could sell a kit with custom engine mounts, belts, hoses, manifolds, carburettour, pumps, intake and ignition. Dunno what you'd do about custom driveshafts and exhausts as I'd imagine they would be costly and time consuming to make. The way I see it, most of the headache of a V8 swap lies in getting hold of everything except the engine and transmission, if you could take that headache away, then I reckons you could be onto an earner.

Good luck if ya go for it bud, everyone likes speed & the rumble of a v8,, but a cammed out V8 (save on the ICE) is pure heaven to the ears.

Don't restrict yourself to Zeds - aim for a broader market, and, as has already been said, look for some "bread 'n' butter" work.

Is there anyway you could try and do a couple as a sideline at the begining, maybe sacrifice some holidays and get a good practical idea of how it might pan out, or am i to cautious? I think its a brill idea, there is a large market for V8's out there, i have a Triumph Stag and i know a lot of them have swapped the original V8 for another, nothing like the sound of a V8 :dance: :dance:

would come with factory gaurentee and pumps out a healthy 450 bhp from the crate
