Has anyone ever put a flamer exhaust kit on a car before? Are they as good as they say (up to 6ft flame) or do u just get a short burst, ive been looking at the one below:

Fire Dragon Exhaust Flamer, (cant get a link to the website)

or is it just a stupid idea?

Featured Replies

would that not screw up the paintwork?

they work well when your on the move in full boost, but stationary u have u use high rev's to make them work coz the tub's aren't spooling

i remember watching a program about car jacking in south africa, and i guy on there had flame throwers come out from under the sills!!, much better than from the exhaust lol

just get two more injectors and run them into the exhaust with the flamer kit

I had one on a motorbike a few years ago.

You can get ones that have a butane cylinder and they produce a bigger flame and work without revving the engine.

Gary had one fitted to his Z and set the hedge on fire at a local meet  I think its a great idea for twats that sit on your arse :)

Good Point Krsmayo

A nice bit of spool up means better flames

Below is one of my posts I have copied and pasted.

The BK Flamer is from here mate:-

Flamer Kit (EBAY)

This is the clip he advertises on his page:-

Flamer Clip (EBAY)

It is an extra £35 for the dual kit that youll need so its £91.99 but its still way cheaper than other types.

Beware of other ebay sellers that only sell you a list of parts and instructions that you need.

aKamoto do one as youve listed but it sounds to me from their description as if the unit controls the ignition and adjusts fuel/sparks as nescesery...

NOT A GOOD IDEA....these Zeds are set up sooo precise if youve chipped it that fiddling around with the fuel/sparks could cause you engine damage...

Instead I would stick with a straight igniter of unburnt fuel...this will be ample unless you want 12 ft flames out the back in which case you would need the added Fuel/Gas lines...too dodgy for me.

Another option is St Albans Cars..they do them for £100 a kit of which you'll need two...so its £200.

There are various types of flamers...

1)One that just ignite unburnt fuel on the release of throttle

2)One that cuts your ignition spark to create more unburnt fuel (I think this is a sure way to fook ur engine)

3)Extra fuel injection (Thats a )

4)Gas injection

The one above is for just igniting any leftover unburnt fuel (safe version)

If you've seen one with hooooooge 12ft flames then its probably had an extra feed of fuel or gas.

These comments you may hear of setting light to the rear bumpers are a load of poop unless you flame for about 5 mins at a time...in which case you want to buy a flame thrower and not a car flamer

Hope that helps bud :duffer:

Just been looking around, where do u thinks the best place to get it from:

a) the ebay guy - £90

b) http://www.akamoto.co.uk/flaming-exhaust.asp - £50

From what I can interpret from the akamoto one it sounds like it plays with the ignition sparks????

I may be wrong...prehaps you should phone and ask them :)

If it does id be wary

I have one mate that you can have for £50 its a twin exhaust setup that runs from a switch, this kit cost me over £100 when on the market
