i'm getting some new alloy's

 

 

i was going to get 8j on the front and put 235/40/17 tyres on and on the back 9j and put 265/40/17 tyres on. is this right for a zed also what offset do you have on a zed i have been told 45 on the front and 30 on the back

I am glad that you didnt end up with mine Trev'. My mate is haveing a nightmare with them trying to get them cleaned to a decent standard. My new rims are 18 and they fill the arches much better. I paid less than a grand for them and they are really great. I can give you the link if you wish the company is in Bristol. but i think you will be dissapointed with 17's

i thought rears were 265/35/18 for 10" i would check width with zcentre 265 seems a bit wide

Yes they did come with tyres but you will have to chat with the guy about tyre sizes. mine were too big in profile but that was my own fault as I didnt specify. I phoned the bloke and he was really nice and friendly. I got the wheels with tyres and all the chrome wheel nuts. delivered within 3 days.

 

TuboZ (Peter) has also bought some wheels from him for his mrs' car and he said he was pleased too.

18s will look better, 17s will handle / accelerate better.

Agreed 17s will handle and fell better on the roads thats what I have coming, I have gone with 18s and 19s on cars in the past and even if I ran over an ant it will feel like I just went over a speed bump. IMO

Looks are not everything.

Bloody Hell mate they are 5 minutes away from me :eek: :eek: they have quite a dodgy reputation around here for some reason :( But I have a few mates that work there, and I do'nt think they are dodgy. LOL

Offset is 30mm front 35mm rear. an Offset of between 30 and 40 should fit.

 

As those alloys have their spokes going to the outer edge they will look big for 17's.

tbh honest im getting that with my 17ns but iu think its down to the tyres which is why im looking at changing them only prob is what sive you recomend ,,my alloys all round are 235 17, they have 45 depth fitted allround should it be different , oh and i have new shocks and springs fitted already so i no its not them

These are the tyre sizes on the 17s I am getting : 235/40/17 on fronts and 255/40/17 on rears.

My actual tyres sizes are front: 235/40/18 and rear 265/35/18. they fit just fine and look just as good.

I cant complain mate as i said they looked after me just fine. and the bloke was great. When i got my wheels they forgot the nuts I phoned him and they were here the very next morning. I will deffo go back when I want some wheels for my Volvo.

mine is currently on 17's and tbh they don't fill the arches as much as I'd like. deffo gonna go for a set of 18's asap.

On the advert it says ET+30mm Trev'. They do fill the arches well mate although the picture in my sig' is with the old tyres mate. The new ones fit much more snug with more space.
