right im updating my pc im looking at the latest sli motherbaords ,, with two slots for graphics cards,,

my qestion is this , if i buy an sli board , with two pci express slots for g cards , will it only run with two cards fitted , or will it run with one sli card fitted , cant find any info on this , , please help ,

 

not computer stupid just not bin reading up on latest specs etc
