pricey, but good......

ordered these white ones for my rear indicator bulb replacement..... they are dual contact for stop and tail lights, but if you put some solder across the contacts then its really bright, makes the indicators look really bright and they look good.....

What is the total price mate as I have tinted rear lights and would not mind this set up or if you could just Pm me the shopping list cheers.

I've seen them and was considering doing it on my old car.

Actually cheaper there than what i've found close to me.

Def worth considering if you say they are good!!!!

Doesn't the electronic flasher unit work in the Zed?

you need resistors because the LED's don't draw much current so your indicator circuit thinks a bulb has failed and your indicarors flash really quickly....

this resistor cures that, but it gets very hot ( normal ), so mount it away from cables etc.....

They sell an electronic flasher unit that replaces the normal one.

Don't know if it works in a Zed though.

don't have any pics yet, but I mounted them behind the trim in the boot, just under the light cluster, they do get quite hot, but to be honest they won't set fire to wires or anything like that, just hot to touch........

i'll get some pics for you....

Just out of curiosity, don't you find that the tail/stop light bulbs project a circular pattern on the rear light? I tried similar bulbs but found them to be too "directional" if that makes any sense. Normal bulbs cast a far wider spread of light whereas the LEDs are very "defined".

these bulbs are custom made to cure that very fault, they have leds's projecting out to the side to fill the lens.......

wicked.......

That looks very good indeed! Guess LED technology has moved on a bit ...

Thanks for the pics!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't standard Stop and Tail (bayonet type) lamps got off-set locating pins, and the standard indicator lamp got opposing pins? If so, then how did you get them to fit properly?

Other than that, they look the dogs mate, very nice indeed.

Dave, this is something of a mystery ... Nissan seems to have used different bulb holders throughout the years (some were straight pinned, others asymetricals) and there is no rhyme or reason to their use ... Perhaps they used what they could get hold of. Best thing to do when buying new bulbs is to first look at the bulb holder you've got and take it from there.

Dan

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I see now :D Weired ;)

I'll have to keep an eye open to see if they produce a yellow bulb for the indicators, to fit my 99's :D

Hi, I was just wondering, when you put red LED's through a red filter don't you lose some of the light output?

I thought when you filtered red light through a red lens you essentially filter most of the red light out leaving only the other componenets of the colour to come through, hence you get an amber/whitish glow from the red/red combination.

If you have red filters, then you'd use the white led bulb, the second link in post one.

Thats what I thought, but M.r red said he'd bought red ones for his stop/tail, so then I'd imagine he'd have that problem. The reason I haven't experimented with LED's yet is because stupid Halfrauds only have the red ones.
