i was racing my mates 745 BMW and i saw the speed camera so i slowed down i gave my hazards to warn him to slow down he carried on going, untill the speed camera flashed. :rolleyes:

14 days from flash for the nip.....

Camera needs to flash twice, and you must receive within 14 days.

single flash is a warning.

 

i.e. 40 mph zone you can go 49mph and get a single flash (warning)but if you do over 50mph (more than 10mph over the limit) it will then normally flash twice, then you just have to see if it had a film in the camera or not (if you receive the letter or not)

Who told you that? The Associated Chief Police Officer guidelines are 10% + 2 over the speed limit. ie 46 mph in a 40. The cameras flash twice if they have film, once if they don't. Not all cameras carry film, this is moved around the various sites by the local traffic agency (not the police). However you are quite right, must recieve the NIP within 14 days.

thats what i thought, it flashes twice because it takes two photographs, then calculates the distance travelled between each one?

That's just a guideline they can choose to follow or not follow. Yiou can be prosecuted for 1mph over, they'd find it difficult which is why they tend to have a cut off, but it varies from area to area.

 

I got taken to court for 46 in a out of town 40, won though :p

You shouldnt be racing on the puplic highway mate, You could kill yourself, Or worse....Someone else! IMHO :o :(

Thats what i thought it was, as ive experenced plenty of flashes, and even few double flashes but I ain't heard nothing in the post. guess im really lucky then.
