Who else is getting fed up with people ruining for sale threads??

I thought I would post this poll as it has happened to me before, and know I have just given up posting in items for sale. If I see somebody wants something I have got I will pm them, as in most items for sale posts some MF always puts in their 2ps worth and ruins it.

Hate this, when someones trying to sell something and someone has to say "its not worth that much" or "I can get um cheaper from bla bla bla"

If you dont want whats for sale keep your mouth shut!

Got this rad for sale only want £500 quid for it........If I post it here knowone will say it's to much money LOL.

Only jokin Know what you mean.

Chris, if you aint gonna buy them then what's the point in these posts? :headvswal

Cos at the right price I would have had them.

Would you buy a Z for £15K just cos thats what someone was asking..??

Chris

Almost sounds like sabotaging a for sale thread so you can get them for the price you want to pay ???

you could add another option: send big si round to slap them with a big fish

easiest way to stop this ... is post the for sale thread.. then lock it n deal via PM or e-mail.. simple

Shouldnt have to go that route if people think before they type.

iv quite often removed posts from for sale threads for this reason. if you think there is an unreasonable post then pm me or report it to the mods & we can remove it :)

suff .. its only like shovin an add in the paper, what realy make me laugh is when people put there car up for sale , people type noooooooo dont sell it youve put soooo much hard work in etc.. i think if that was me selling my car because of financial or what ever situation n got comments liek that would realy piss me off coz id be losing me pride n joy.. no need for it realy.. were all meant to be adults? well.. i am till i get behind the wheel of me zed lol

Those kind of posts are fine. Will show a potetial buyer the car is known and looked after.

Also nice to know people will be as sad as your are the car is leaving you.

All in MHO.

Yes I agree why can't people just keep there Gob shut if they don't like it or they don't think its worth the money. DON'T BUY IT THEN! :mac1:

I think this problem has got worse lately

you could add another option: send big si round to slap them with a big fish

i still think my ideas best...

Sounds like (hard) negotiating, maybe the for sale forums should be moved into the subbed members area and all negotiations to be carried out by PM?

But then not as many people will be able to view the items for sale meaning not as much chance to sell you items.

From my experience its been mostly subbed members.

So more incentive for people to subscribe so they can get good deals and it does say
Items For Sale

Subscribed members only are are allowed to buy and sell parts in this section,

The negotiating should consist of making an offer then it either being accepted or refused by the seller, not telling everyone its not worth that sort of money and why to try and put other people off in the hope the seller will eventually lower the price to what they offered origionally.

Something's only worth what someone will pay for it, I have found that out many times in the past. I'm not condoning the technique mentioned but it goes on.

Making the rule that nothing other than registering interest to be posted in a thread, everything else to be done behind closed doors has helped in a few other forums I have frequented. It lets everyone know where they stand. As has been proven in countless situations in life, some people can bite their tongue and others can't. Those who can't and who seem to be upsetting the majority of posters in this thread wouldn't have a choice but to suck it up and stop thread crapping or (eventually) get banned :nelson:

i had this happen to me as well when i was trying to sell my big alloy spoiler off my Z, got loads of abuse and people telling me to put it on a nova etc, never had a prob with the forum before and its one of the best i have been on, but that did fook me off quite a bit!

Just seems a lot easier to me if you can do it all in the for sale thread, my solution is simple, have a rule where anyone ruining a for sale thread gets banned. (not eventually or for a day or month, straight away and for life :mac1: )

Or send Craig David round with his hot Crack pipe.

Nice one Paul.

It seems to happen everytime a car is for sale. Always someone who knows nothing about the car adding their 2ps worth. Whats the point?

Of course it's easier in the thread but it's all a bit vague as to what constitutes crapping and what constitutes negotiation. You will never get all the people happy all the time with a solution like that.

nah, i reckon its pretty obvious when a post is unnecessary.

I think that the whole thing just looks wrong??, not sure why, is it the wheels look too far in? hmmm, but hey each to their own

for example

At least there is a "for sale" section. So you might get ba few shit replies. Ignor them and as paul said report them. It would be far worst if there wasnt a for sale section. Maybe make it viewerable by everyone but only postable by subscribed members?

That way anything out of order could be added to the AUP.

I agree though it can be a pain in the arse but easy to ignor. :D
