Personally I think the post counts were quite informative of a member. I'd like to see them back, but make talk of post counts a punishable offence. On another forum I use, if you mention your bulging post count then you will have 1000 removed from it (regardless of if you even had 100 to start with), and if you start a thread in general about some kind of pointless post count milestone then it will be reset to 0. It works very well.
