Hello there. Due to the xmas pwriod we have had a couple of weeks without any meets but here is the first one of the new year. Went to Travellers Rest last night and the food situation is this. Unlike most resturants if all the tables are occupied you cannot leave your name on a list for when a table becomes available but instead you have to stand around and when you see a table become available you have to run and grab the table before someone else does! It is possible to book a table in advance but it is for partys of 8 or more. The food at the Travellers Rest is excellent and is at a good location. The telephone number of the Travellers Rest is 0115 926 4412 if you have anymore questions or would like to book a table. I do not know if the Travellers Rest do bar food orders in their busy periods.

 

I will be having my main sunday meal with my family at 6pm at a pub called the Tree Tops which is about half a mile away. They have a civilized system of putting your name on a waiting list when there are no tables available.
