I let Mrs Peach drive today....

And GOD, was I nervous!!!

A situation arose where I needed our Astra for boot space, and she had an appointment to get to - and our only option was for her to take the Z - which she has never driven before  . Now, before you all start, I know it's not the fastest thing in the world (stock NA) but our Astra, her daily car, is a really weedy 1.4 that couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding with very loose skin!! Plus, with the roads being as greasy as they are, even I'd been VERY careful in it all morning.

Well, she couldn't work my new stereo, and had to ring me as it wouldn't start in town (immobiliser). Plus, now my seat is all fooked up - bolt upright and right up to the wheel, LOL!

Anyway - all was well in the end, no mishaps and nothing to worry about - but does anyone else get this nervous when someone else drives their Z?

I let my partner drive the car TWICE

When I got the zed she went on and on about taking it to work to pose in front of her m8's. She was non stop takin the p**s and larfin on about big boys toys.

Anyway....on day I turned around and said OK here you go let take the zed for a spin :wack: , bear in mind she has only driven a 1200 punto :x:

Out we go...in she gets, full of 'I can drive this easy'.....fires it up....I then showed her how to op the auto box...also reminded her to ease the gas on gently...ooops :mac1: should've kept me gob shut.

So she uses the gas like her punto and the Zed (modded TT) shot forward and she shat herself :) . I convinced her to drive for a few miles.....she never floored it ...or parked it....it was too big for her

She has never asked to drive or borrow it since :D

Ever since then she mockingly takes the p**s, but when I got too tired driving up the M1 I asked her to drive, we swapped seats and off we went. Before long we got some :xxx: in a X5 up the pipes, she didnt know what to do...floor it hard me said....she did....she Fookin loved it.

Since then its big respect for the Zed, whenever we go out....its 'shall we take the zed?'

What else can I say.....never leave your keys lying around.....just in case!!

I let my wife use my z once, thought she would be ok as she already had a fto mivec when we got married but it came back with a scratch on the wheel and i also recieved a phone call asking what i was playing at passing my dad doing a stupid speed going sideways. I asked her about it she denied marking the wheel but said why have a fast car and not used its full potential i.e sideways. She has never driven my car since.
