And GOD, was I nervous!!!

A situation arose where I needed our Astra for boot space, and she had an appointment to get to - and our only option was for her to take the Z - which she has never driven before  . Now, before you all start, I know it's not the fastest thing in the world (stock NA) but our Astra, her daily car, is a really weedy 1.4 that couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding with very loose skin!! Plus, with the roads being as greasy as they are, even I'd been VERY careful in it all morning.

Well, she couldn't work my new stereo, and had to ring me as it wouldn't start in town (immobiliser). Plus, now my seat is all fooked up - bolt upright and right up to the wheel, LOL!

Anyway - all was well in the end, no mishaps and nothing to worry about - but does anyone else get this nervous when someone else drives their Z?

I KNEW that would get mentioned eventually :slap:

I was referring to Zed's - obviously :wack:

Back in 02 I stuck my Mrs on the Z insurance because it was £100 cheaper to do so  Never told her she was on it though  :x: ;)

He he, sounds familiar.

When I got the Z I let (the now) Mrs Craig David drive. Was always a bit nervous until she bought it home again!

She was fine until one day she touched the front spoiler on a kerb - didn't mark it but she was terrified she'd damaged my car and never drove it again.

Didn't ever let her use it in the wet though!

Once had to let me wife drive my RS500 .. She passed me on power kinda sideways then I remembered why I married her :) When we stopped she did say sorry for not letting the motor warm up ...heheheheheh

Stick her on the insurance Craig It should be cheaper;)

Need to install a device which limits the output of the engine to 80bhp, obviously boost disabled where applicable....just flick a switch she isn't likely to find and then let her drive it....will be just like the astra. She won't understand what all the fuss is about or how YOU make it go so fast, but who cares?

I do every year. Brings it down by about £80 every time. Shows how f'ing stupid insurance companies are!

'Cos I'm on a classic policy, and 'cos my Mrs has had a couple of 'incidents' - it puts my premium up :(, so she's only drving it on her own insurance (third party  )

and i bet she drove it faster than you!!

Claire (My bint) hasnt passed her test and i let her drive mine on a car park frunning at 1bar, needless to say, big wheelspin, scared face, lots of swearing (from her), Lots of laughing (from me) and she said, when i (her) pass my test, im never driving that again!!

My plan worked to perfection!

Let the missus drive the zed , i don,t think so , she scares me in a 1.7 diesel corsa

I had to do the same thing once, my missus 1.4 Astra had a puncture so I lent her the Z and I had a call from her at work saying she could not get the key out of the ignition and how much faster it was, she did'nt feel like it was doing 90mph on the motorway

Mrs Ball took the Zed into work for three days this year when her Golf died..

Was not bothered as she only drives abou 28 MPH on the main road..LOL..

& she had a change of knickers in her handbag for work....

I had to let the mrs drive one evening because i'd had a few. We were stopped at a small roundabout and she was hesitating. GO! GO! GO! I shouted. She did......foot to the floor.... 180 degrees ...she screamed...I screamed...LOl!.

she was learning to drive at the time, and her driving instructor told her a few day's later " what a silly silly car for anyone to drive!" Pr*ck.
