When I was younger you used to be able to get toys called key cars, they where sports cars with a little orange key you stuck in the back of them, and when you squeezed the sides of the key the car would launch forward along the floor. They worked of a spring in the car that you compressed when the key was inserted, there was plastic lugs on the back of the key that locked the car on to the key but when you squeezed it, the lugs came in and the car launched forward. The reason why I am asking is I want to get some for my kids, but cannot find them anywhere.

and navigate thru all of em :D

In the ELC mate there are these cars which have a launch device, which you turn a handle as fast as you can, with the car attached to the launch device then when you press a button the flywheel in the launching device (still spinning) turns a gear which in turn connects to the car and causes the rear wheels to spin up. The result is like a 6 grand launch on a wet pod floor ;) Not that expensive though, bout 15 quid IIRC :D

HTH

These are pretty good fun too!

But the Burnin Key Car is a piece of 1980s history and thats what I like as that was when I was in my youth, not a dad with house, kids, bills etc. Now I want some things I used to have for my kids (and maybe me).

I have number 24 on http://www.ne.jp/asahi/z32/na/mat32.html, it's not a Key Car though but is the exact same car as on the picture... They have also made a newer version of them recently a few years back, if I remember right.

WOW!! That is a shocking interior, I bet LIL PINKY would love that. :)
