Finally i have my car back and its now a manual :D

The clutch is very very hard to push in (compared to what im used to that is) but it is brand new so hopfully it'll not be as hard after a week or so.

The car's still not that fast :headvswal I still need to by-pass/fix the Det Sensor though.

Its got a short shifter on there which i didn't realise was coming :D but it does seem difficult to go in gear, is that normal

Anyway i have the ZED back woohoo

Oh and the work by martin (zen garage) seems to be spot on and i met him today and he seems like a real good bloke, Also thanks to mark at zen garage for all the help and another big thanks to Mike (KIRBZ) for providing all of the bits and again a top bloke in my opinion.

"the zed does feel a little heaiver than a lot of other cars"

Not found that in my experience, in fact everytime I change a clutch the ease of use after is always commented on?

If a standard clutch is fitted and it is hard to depress something is wrong.

A common rouse used by second hand car dealers selling manual zeds with a heavy clutch is a bit like this "they are all like that as they are so powerful" ......rubbish unless it is an upgraded one, it is worn out!

No offence Mark ..... just answering the question as I see it.

that wouldnt be a worn clutch more to do with a leak from the diaphram on the servo/booster and or the rubber boot around the booster

as for the z clutch being heavy in general,no there not unless its heavy duty type the rps max is heavier than stock,as said some prefer it with the clutch booster blocked or removed, not my cup of tea but hey if it floats your boat, another problem with the manual is the support plate above the linkage, the rubber mount commonly breaks, have seen this a few times,so the linkage drops and makes gearchanges difficult, have had to make a few brackets for temporarily usage until a new or better one is purchased

as for tight gearchanges as said if the bolt that passes through the linkage is to tight then it will make changes difficult,or with the aftermarket shortshifter the nylon bushes supplied are terrible and should be changed for nissan oem type IMO

another reason why you wouldnt want a heavy clutch, ever been stuck in traffic on the m25 with and your leg is fooked due to the pressure needed to be applied sod that

Yep as Greg said.

Nice to see some peace and agreement

Merry Xmas Greg ..... have a good break

Happy Holidays to all.

Nice one bud glad your happy :)

Did i forget to tell you it had a stillen short shifter on it ;) sorry mate

Glad its sorted

Mike

12lb but unless your dropping the back of the gearbox down your not going to be able to torque it,the saying tight or to ****ing tight works in that situation you can test the shifter before you put it back together

Oh i will do mate,

Just to mention that the work done was spot on, also when i have mentioned to Martyn about the clutch he is only too happy to sort it for me, he a top bloke.

Also he has gone quite out of his way for me too and done a lot of running around and from what i take it long hours too, did the car in 2 days (well three really but that was due to a couple of parts not being there)

Top notch job done from what i can see and the clutch will be sorted between christmas and new years (again both Topless (mark) and Martyn only too happy to help as much as possible)
