A Friend Of Mine Is Asking If Anyone Use Bittorent, I Hear That This Is A Very Good Programe, But I Also Hear That It Is Also Watched By The Authority's, Is This True.

I've used Bittorent, and didn't get on with it at all (maybe i did something wrong?!)

I'm currentley using Limewire Pro. This is a nice and simple to use program. It's relativley quick to use, only slowed down by either your connection or the amount of people who have whatever you're looking for, that are on-line at any one given moment. If your 'friend' is on dial-up, personally, I wouldn't bother, as it'll take ages to download anything.

But whatever P2P program you use, always Virus-Scan anything you download BEFORE you open it!!!

i use bit comet..#

please note:

Under the CDPA 1988, design right/copyrights only exists in a design document (or article) if the document (or article) itself qualifies. Put at its simplest, a design document does not qualify for design right protection in the UK if it does not have a sufficient link to a qualifying country. The qualifying countries are at present the EU countries and a further list of mainly Commonwealth countries

LimeWire for me too - best P2P ive used. Bittorrent sucks donkey balls - too slow and not enough people sharing the files you want.

bit torrent is awesome for me. love it, i find its quick, easy, and theres a LOT of stuff online that i download.

try http://www.torrentspy.com theres a lot of people on it, gets quick speeds!

i've tryed limewire and had lot's of bother with it, have any of you's tryed using the newsgroups for this sort of thing?

Used to use Bittorrents (various differnet torrent software) , but Find Limewire much better.

I use bittorrent, but if you do you'll need an IP blocker like PeerGuardian or something. Companies like Time Warner and others log onto Bittorrents and record the IP's of all the people who are torrenting certain files (i.e. the copywrighted ones they own). They use these lists to find the major distributors of files, but if they had the resources they'd go after everyone.

Bit Torrent is the way forward, although you will need a client for example bitcomet, azures etc.

ALL P2P is monitored by the authorities and if they are gonna get you they will there is no way around it other than NOT using p2p at all. But if we lived exactly how the law wanted none of us would have any money, we would work until we die pensions wouldn't be needed, the rich would get richer and the poor will get poorer. '

Soo go ahead, get bitcomet and download as much illegal stuff as you can before they get you :D

I use Bitcomet and think it is very good. I get the torrents from http://thepiratebay.org/ lots on there. Also as been mentioned use PeerGuardian2 to block the government and record companys spying on you, in the logs on PeerGuardian2 I get literaly thousands of blocked I.P's a day including amongst others SONY!

i use azerus.....never had any probs..........its a lot better than the old kazzaa days.....

bit torrent is good if you know how to use it (and its not difficult). Limewire is gash, really, the software is really badly written java crap which sucks up your cpu resources in huge big chunks, slowing down even the most powerful pc to a crawl. Then once you have got past the monumental loading time, you find what you want it not available, and all you get is sick porn in your search results.

Usenet is the way forward for speed, you will nearly always max out your connection using this, only it is pretty complicated to use and theres a limited choice of whats available to download. Also its really expensive, 20gb for 8 quid, thats hardly a lot.

yep limewire done this to my laptop and caused it to crash out every time i tryed to boot up :headvswal . but 20gb is about 5 dvds worth for £8 do not sound to bad. have you used this much xav2075 or clarkey ?

bittorrent has everything you ever need.........just learn how to use and you'll never look back.........its so easy you'll have it sussed within the hour....if you want some links let us know, theres 3 sites which i use,if one doesnt have it the other's will......

I have got a mountain of mp3s from easynews. U get gems like the best 500 dance tracks ever. Has the ones you have been after for ages.

I also use http://www.allofmp3.com. Its a russian site that charges around $1.50 per album. If your after old stuff its great.

allofmp3 is just as illegal as downloading it from a p2p network except now you're paying for it lol.

A lot of people using torrents experiencing really slow speeds could be down to their router (If they have one). You need to set up port forwarding - this can raise your d/l speeds from under 10K to over 200K (on a 2MB connection).

I originally had very slow speeds but after setting up my router Im nearly always above 180K.

I use works 2Mbit net connection and use Netlimiter to give me 150kbit and everyone else 50kbit muahaha.

My games PC at home is plugged straight into the cable modem. I like to VNC remote control my PC from work and stuff. Having the PC with a direct net IP is handy. I could set up port forwarding i suppose.

think you mean KiloByte ;)

2Mb connection is about 1840Kbps (230KBytes) (Very Avg).

150KByte is about 1200KiloBits.

if I remember rightly . . . . .
