Hi Guys,

Centre bearing appears to be gone on the Zed. :(

Where do you recommend for a new one ? Nissan main dealer has quoted me £148+vat. Is that the norm ??

Would it be wise to source a 2nd hand prop shaft ??

Cheers,

Alan..........

Just ask Mike (MJP) to get you a complete refurshed prop.

Dont mess about with just the centre carrier bearing. Get it ALL new.

By any chance are the syptoms vibration from the rear as you pull away, but smooth once your at cruising speed? I'm thinking i've got the same thing.

Thirded. I have a new one on order from him coming from the States. Well worth getting the whole lot I'd say -- his price for one is an absolute bargain as well.

It is when you consider that not only is there a new carrier bearing BUT all three Universal joints are new as well. And they are proper circlip retained joints not horrible staked in jobs.

Not until you have a good swatch at it, you realise its quite a piece of kit really ! I only noticed the centre bearing knacked, but there must be wear on the other Uni joints as well.

You got me thinking now !!

Alan......

Alan, when you drop the prop, I'll bet you will have at least one 'notchey' uj!

could get a new c/bearing and take the lot to a prop specialist and they will do the lot and balance it as well! ;)
