Hi Guys

Having never seen a ZedWorld upgraded ECU I just wondered if anyone could advise if there is anyway of telling what has been done mod wise ?? I assume the ecu will have had a socket fitted and the CPU replaced ?? Or of course some twat could have just scribbled on it with a N50 marker. :) Anyone ??

Thanks

Craig

Open it up, if its socketed its uprated, as to exactly what you would need the chip read, would be easier to just buy another chip that has what you want I would guess.

Yep there is method in my madness .. long as I get it cheap enough .. I have a JWT chip here just waiting to be fitted to an ECU with a socket..

So let me get this right, yer thinking of picking up a zedworld ECU cos it's socketed and then gonna plonk in a JWT ? Just ring Jeff and ask him whats what with the chip in his, from any writing on it he should be able to see what mapping etc is on it, the JWT one however has always been the most mildest of chips around with 98% of those sold in the UK, simply being copies!

Just a thought fella ;)

Thing is just cause it has a scibble on it .. is it a gen ZedWorld unit .. thats really the info I'm after .. but if all else fails I could stick a JWT chip in .. was what I meant.. Thanks for the concern

I can confirm that the writing on the ecu is mine, shortly after that date we began fitting numbered authentication labels on ecu cover and an overlay on the eprom, the ecu will be socketed and contain a generic JWT eprom.

Fantastic Info Jeff .. "from the horses mouth so to speak".. Will you have made custom mods to the chip that might cause issues in an other motor or is it a fairly safe and general MAP ?? Thanks again for the Info "This Club Rocks"

That ecu will is safe to use on another zed rather than that it was originally fitted to without any issues other than your own engine`s state of tune.

The best performance / effeciency results will always depend on the engine been well set up BEFORE upgrading. If you have any issues with timing, tps settings, throttle balance, boost leaks etc you these need sorting first or you may be disapointed with the eprom upgrade.

If you can get the engine sorted it may well reveal some of the above settings that need adjusting, you will benefit in a safer more rewarding upgrade.

If you need talking through the set up thats no problem, rather help you FOC than it end in tears later.

Hope that helps
