Yes, I was driving my car (Karlosg's old car) through Bangor, driving under the speed limit when I noticed a copper sneakily parked up. I though 'Oh sh!t, here we go' & sure enough, the fooker pulled out & started following me. After about half a mile the lights come on, so I pull over.

Sarcastic b@stard says 'what does your front registration number say?'!! He was reffering to the reduced sized number plate on the front of my car. I explained that I had only just bought the car and hadn't had the log book back, therefore couldn't get a full sized plate made up! (something that I fully intended to do as I know what the b@stards around here are like!)

This wasn't good enough for North Wales finest, no I got a fine  He said that I shouldn't have been driving the car as it was illegal FFS!

I was sooo pissed off, not so much because of the fine but because of his unwillingness to understand my situation.

As soon as he started filling out that form I knew that was it, so I sarcastically asked him if he was getting bonus points for nicking me & whether they were short of work :mac1:

You guys are lucky that you don't live up here, they really are w@nkers!

Oh yeah, the worst part of it is that the copper took pictures of the reg plate to send of to the DVLA. The DVLA can then choose to prosecute & fine up to £1000!! :(

If you had been driving a family hatchback with a childseat in the back he wouldnt have pulled you - obviously jealous of your babe magnet beastie! (ooo er).

Bad luck matey.

Its the same in nottingham mate as we all know motorists are easy targets for them, couple weeks ago i was driving along when police car decided to cut me up at the last second which led me to slam on my brakes to avoid a collision with the twat and most shocking thing was that he looked at me like it was my fault, if that was me he would have done me for dangerous driving.

The Police has a remote person profiling tool. If you behave yourself and pay all your taxes they will pull you over and hit you with something trivial :headvswal

Mate, that's very bad luck. Do you get points as well as a fine?

It's not bad luck, it's bad Policing! They've been voted the worst/most hated in the country in an opinion poll.

I remember when I got assaulted by two blokes, I could tell that the Police didn't want me to prosecute by their tone of voice & manner. It meant loads of paper work for them. I found them to be very unhelpful & quite arsey about the whole thing.

The thing that stuck in my mind was that the officer in question said that he knew Mr X (one of the guys that assaulted me) quite well as he was always in and out of the Police station for fighting & that they 'kind of had respect' for him! :mac1: How would that make you feel eh?!!

im shocked bud ,I was driving with that plate for quite a while an police never took an interest in it !! Goes to show that the London police must have better things to do with their time than to pull innocent motorists over for no good reason.

Hi Karl, just PM'd you with that info that you needed.

Oops, sorry didn't see your second post. That really does suck. Winds me up that our council tax pays for this kind of thing. In any case, I though the smaller plates were legal on the front bumper under some circumstances? Guess not.

 Im sure i heard someone say that was the correct size for a 99 spec bumper.

ta bud but no pm yet ??

Is your car Jap or UK spec? As if it's Jap spec I would of asked the copper he he was familiar with the laws regarding number plate size on the front of Jap cars? Just a thought.

What they need to realise is that people will start to take the law into their own hands if the police don't. As shaunmac said, they weren't interested in an assult because of paper work and soon enough people will just start striking back. It is so easy to find out information about people, too easy. I bet given a week i could find the name address and telephone number of at least 75% of members on here without them knowing (if you know what i mean) and then what? We will have houses being torched, even more violence in the streets and general anarky (sp?). If the police don't sort their prioroties then the people of britain will !!

I still stand my my statement that if anyone hurts my family, regardless of whether the police get involved i will settle up any disagreements and it won't be pleasant. Happened last year, and im more confident that i will get away with it now as there are more and more motorists on the road.

 over.

No points thank goodness. Just hope I don't get fined by the DVLA!

PM should be with you now Karl.

It would make me question where my council tax money is going. Seriously I'd get quite inquisitive, and would probably file a formal complaint.... Cambridgeshire police are something daft like fourth worst in the country, and their portion of the council tax virtually doubled last year. I can clearly remember sitting round the table with a couple of my housemates trying to figure out what they did to justify it. I know there was a *particularly* high profile double-murder over three years ago, but they'd already put it up once to try to pay for the investigation into that.

I've had the same size plates on mine for 2 years without any problems.

Ive had no front plate for 6 months now with no problems. :D

 Is that allowed?

It would be great if it was.... I don't like the idea of having to mar my replacement front bumper, when I eventually get it, with a number plate.

No, but i just cant get a plate i like for the bumper. I just keep it in the car with worn old sticky bits on the back. Its fallen off you see. lol

i had an even smaller plate on my old scooby 1/2 size and never a problem there either !

The traffic fuzz round here really are a bunch of tossers. Got pulled for tints and my Mrs car got pulled up for the same plate problem as above. FFS there are just too many pussy plods opting for the easier life of sitting in a T5 supping coffe and eating sweets over real crime solving. They actually have a game around here called Car-Snooker where they have a score card and have to pull cars by order of colour like the balls in snooker!

Remind me never to drive round there at the end of the day then!

Thats an oldie!

haha It's a good thing that you're not supposed to pot the que ball!! lol

I have black and silver plates on mine and ive been followed by a few coppers over the months and did not get a tug ?
