I totally disagree with how my partner has been dealt with on this forum. He may have stepped the line sometimes but from what he has shown me he is not the only one. I understand that members are leaving but can you really blame ben solely? Maybe they just didn't think this site was right for them!!! :rant: I use a mother and baby forum and it is my main one because it is right for me and i have looked at others and left cos they weren't for me!!! Does ben not have a right to defend himself?? That was a personal attack on him. On the forum I use if you make a personal attack it is you that gets the telling off. Even if you are a moderator. It is unacceptable. If it was a regular member would you have allowed him to make such a personal attack????NO!!! I think that you need to rethink your procedures for dealing with problematic posters. I am not attacking or defending ben but believe he should have had a warning. :rant:

 

I am not trying to tell anyone how to do their job etc but I am a happy member of a forum and any problems that arise are dealt with quickly and privately. We have not had a member banned recently because of good moderating. I also run my forum and moderate it and the people who use it are happy and I have no problem keeping my members happy. Maybe if unacceptable posts are that much of a problem you should check them first?? If not you really should reconsider your grievance procedures. And naming and shaming just isn't fair especially when there is a group of 'offenders'. Please for the wellbeing and happiness of the club please do this! you won't please all the people all the time, and you have to remember that. I don't come here often as I don't know much about zeds. i joined cos ben was a member. I have thoroughly enjoyed it though, but this is getting bad. :headvswal

He was hot headed at the time and he tells me it was edited 10 minutes later and it was in the early hours so hardly the world and his wife saw it!

The committee has made its decision on 'crap' threads and posts and there has always been the AUP which if you don't read then that's your problem.

 

I think the main problem is all this is now old news, the mods and the majority of the members are getting sick and tired of the same handfull of people who just won't accept it. FFS get over it and stop bringing the same topic up over and over again and you won't get banned. It's so simple. :headvswal

And I agree he hasn't. but that could be something to do with the fact that we don't own one yet. He does however put some 300zx related posts in here. And I don't remember defending him. So do not have a go at me. I just think it is dealt with wrongly. I am not condoning his actions etc. But there are better ways of dealing with things like this. Maybe you should remember that this isn't just about what ben has done. This is an overall opinion of the conduct of the site.

ben has had a warning, a 24 hours ban, his next warning will be a 2 week ban and then a permenant ban. read the AUP,

I am disagreeing with the way it was dealt with FFS. You named and shamed him. You gave him a warning with a ban??? WTF is that about? you have his e-mail and you can also PM him so why didn't you do that? If he didn't adhere then fine I understand the ban but you didn't!!!!!!! I think it is unfair!!!!! :rant:

My father owned a classic sports car (not a zed) and he was an enthusiast just like the members of this forum. But he was an enthusiast about classic sports cars before he owned them. Yes my partners banning has brought it to my attention but it is not just about him. So learn to read and understand what words mean and then put your two pence in. I know people will slate me for this post but i don't care. I would love to own a 300zx since i have seen a couple, but i certainly will not be coming here for support. And if people are leaving because of other members maybe they should get themselves a life!!!!!

end of discussion, things are going to carry on for the better of club and if the few people like you who and your partner who can't accept it decide to leave or carry on posting crap thats fine, you will just be banned, ultimatley a few people are spoiling it for the majority. and they can go as far as i am concerned,
