Hi, I've posted on the forums about buying a 300zx but im having a little problem with insurance quotes.

I've done one with elephant but both me and them arnt sure they have the right car.

It comes up as a nissan 300zx Turbo, but its a twin turbo 1990 onwards. They cant find one on the list so they asked for a reg number so they could check it out.

Know I know this migh sound dodgy, but could anyone provide me with a 1994 UK spec TT, manual, short wheel base reg number???

I told them it was a Z32, but they recon all twin turbos are jap imports which I said was incorrect cause the jap one is a Fairlady.

As there list says 1990 onwards turbo, being that all 1990 onwards are tein turbo, im hoping it was right and then I can afford to buy one :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

If it says 1990 onwards then its definatly a Z32. Each insurer seems to list them differntly.

You should be able to find a reg number from autotrader or ebay.

If you get stuck with them, then contact Admiral instead. Elephant are owned by Admiral, and I actually found them to be slightly cheaper than Elephant.

UK

Twin Turbo 2+2

Jap

Twin Turbo 2+2

Twin Turbo 2+0 (swb)

NA 2+2

Na 2+0 (swb)

Sometimes Jap's are listed as Fairlady, sometimes the same as Uk is listed.

If you are over 30 try Liverpool Victoria, they insure my UK TT. At least you can get a quote that way. Who knows they may even be cheap!

Hi bud, you wont get a UK SWB they are all imports

and the Z32 was produced from 89 on HTH

From an old Glass's guide and also an old CAP black book (trade guide) the UK car is listed as Nissan 300ZX Coupe. (the word "Turbo" is not mentioned) The insurance company will get their info from the same sources that the guides get it from. I would guess that a UK car will be listed on the V5c as 300ZX or 300ZX Coupe. There will be no mention of Turbo or Twin Turbo because officially there was only one version sold in the UK

Except Insurers dont list it is as "300zx coupe" every insurer seems to offer different descriptions(as above)
