I've heard a bit about these new DVD clubs.

You pay a monthy or annual fee and they have a huge collection of DVDs they post you (one or more at atime) and you return by post.

I might join one.

Can anyone recommend one or have any experience of them?

Cheers!

Blockbuster is fantastic for this service so i'm told. I know a couple of people who use the service, can't fault it! And how do i get a free ipod? I want in :D

it was an online survey thing that offered a free i-pod if you signed up for one of there offers and one of them was this post dvd offer.

thats why i said it! :D

but i have heard the same about blockbuster very efficient

i'm with lovefilm.co.uk (and no comments please ;) ) and they're pretty good. you pay for how many you want at a time (one at a time is £8.99 per month iirc)

screenselect are pretty good, good turnaround times, only ever had 1 faulty disc and their website is great

There are also these services from which you get access to a movie online for 24 hours. It's much cheaper than getting the real disc, atleast over here.

Ken

do you have to wait along time to get the latest releases with these places??

i know you have to give them a big list of films that they pick from but if you want to watch something that was out last week, how long before you get that??

I'm currently on a free 30 day trial with Sainsburys dvd rental (which is powered by lovefilm.co.uk) and quite frankley it's a bit poop!

My free trial is for the 3 discs at a time jobbie (£19.99 if I was paying) and I have never had more than one disc at a time.

Customer services have been very good about it and have exteneded my free trial until I am getting as many discs as I am supposed to, but overall I'm not impressed and won't be taking out an account with them when my free trial ends.

I think most of these companies do a free trial period, so sign up for one. If you don't like it, it won't cost you anything.

You could aslo ask every single firm out there for a free trial, one at a time. This way you could probably get free discs for a year. Next year you could try to do the same (probably wont work, but anyway) but on your misses name.
