I'm looking at buying a camcorder, mainly to film the upcoming snowboarding holiday. I would like one that I can add a wide angle lens to.

 

Does anyone have any experience or even just opinions?

As long as the camera you buy is able to take a new lens (90% do) just buy the lens you want and an adaptor for the kind of thread your camera has.

My plan was to buy a seperate lens, I am just hoping for some tips in buying a decent camcorder at a low price.

 

Ebay seems my best bet, but I do like having a proper warranty!
