i wanna get a 32 tt and want to know just how fast they are?

i wanna get a 32 tt and want to know just how fast they are? i have a mr2 and a 300hp mr2 turbo will do 0-60 in about 4.4 and you can get them in the low 12s / high 11s 1/4 mile. how about r33 gtst skylines, pulsars, scoobys, 200sx s14 and seirra cosworth? these are all cars im thinking of buying but what one should i get?

dont want to spend loads fixing the z all the time and thinking i cant boot it cos something will break! will it be slower then the others cars?

i'd like about 500hp from a z....... :hyper:

can a 500hp z get in to the low 12s/ high 11s?

some guy at work come in with a r33 gtst and i said i was thinking of getting one and he said the r33 is so much better then the z! he said the gtst is faster?!?! the z is 3.0 v6 with 2 turbo and the gts 2.5 s6 single turbo with 250 hp............how can it be faster?

stock figures :

Twin Turbo (Euro and Jap)

280 bhp - 300bhp

283 Ib/ft

0-60 : 5.5 secs

0-100 : 14.5 secs

1/4 Mile : 13.8 - 14.2 secs

Top speed : 170 mph + (Uk restricted to 155mph and Jap to 112mph)

Although, Car and Driver in 1992 got the following figures from a Manual SWB TT :

0-60 mph: 5.0 sec.

0-100: 13.1 sec.

Quarter Mile Time: 13.7 sec.

A Exhaust, Intake and Mild boost increase will see a sub 5sec 0-60, and a 0-100 in the 12's.

Although its not such a 1/4 mile orientated car as the Mr2 is. Its a lot faster at higher speeds with more mid-range pull than all those car's you've mentioned though.

R33 GTST versus Zed. LOL. Tell your collegue he's clueless. There are only two good things about Skyline GTR's - The Twin Turbocharged RB26 engine, and the trick 4wd system. Neither of which the GTST has and everything else about the car is inferior.

Limited to 155mph, delimited circa 175-180 mph.

0-60 approx 5.5 secs

500 bhp from a z will cost a few quid mate!

It will whup a gts-t skyline.

A pulsar, mr2t etc will be more nimble than the z.

The z doesn't really come into it's own till you start

doing stupid speeds (130+).

No he's lying! A 300ZXTT will slate A boggo standard R33GTS-T and yer MR2 turbo beacuse of better power transfer to the road, obviously more bhp and torque and if it's RED it's gonna be quick anyway! If you get your Z'ed up to around the 500Bhp mark then you'll have no problem in getting it into the 11Second+ barrier!!! You get a 300ZXTT beacuse you know it's quick, it's bloody good value for money and there are still one of the best looking cars out there!!! Get one you WILL NOT regret it!

thats the thing when am i going to do 1## speeds?! i dont was motor way much. i want the car to be in the 12/11s and quick round town and duel carrageways 150/160 top end would be fine.

do the z's pick up well quick? as dont wanna floor it and be like oh i need a huge straite to open it up cos it dont pick up till 80/90 mph

well in standard form its quicker or the same 0-60 than all the cars you listed.......and then once up to speed its much quicker than all the cars you listed.

what sort of spec will a 300tt do with 400/450 hp?

If you think you're mr2 is fast (which it is!!) then the z32 will take your breath away mate!

a mate of mine has a 340bhp mr2 turbo and in almost all ways its quicker than mine - until we got above 120 then i just pulled away from him - but he has spent mega bucks on it - plus its like half the weight of a Z

if u spend the same amount on a Z as u would on a GTsT skyline then the Z would leave it for dead - u gotta remember the Z has like 40 - 50 bhp more in standard form

ZEDS are the way to go matey u'll not regret it and a few good mods will c ya burn up that strip!!

Ask anyone on here,if you dont respect these cars

they will bite you. 300 BHP twin turbos rear wheel

drive and heavy right foot in even damp conditions

is asking for lots of sideways action which aint fun

on single carraige ways or roundabouts.

Mine looks fast, and there are a couple of GT skylarks that dont even bother with me anymore round this way after dishing out the last can of whoopass on em.

But my favorite roadkill is a porche

hmm, not so sure on your MR2 turbos doing 4.4 to 60 mate ... if thats right then itll be much quicker than a standard zed.

I have to agree with Bubbles. Once those Twin Tubs kick in all hell breaks loose. Sometimes I just want to say "Engage" (in the voice of Patrick Strewart) when I stomp it.

The Z32 is not an ideal 1/4 mile car - too heavy, fantastic for the road though.

The (right) Skylarks are OK when highly tuned due to the 4wd giving good tractionm (and hence acceleration), but the downside is of course the 4wd saps a heap of power.

Yeah and in defense of the MR-2 Tubby, get it right boys and girls why are ALL proper super cars mid engined and rear wheel drive?

I rest my case!

MR2 - Mid Engined Rear Wheel Drive 2 Seater! Which equates to no back seats which is why Mazda RX-7's are so quick with only 240BHP...less weight as Nelson so quaintly puts it means more power. ;) Plus my Toymota has NEVER broken down on me once in nearly two years of ownership, which is 99.99 percent more miles per buck than my Z has given me in over 5 years of ownership...go figure!

a mr2 turbo did 60 in 4,8 in the rain @ donny south!!

Yes mate and I used to have some vids from the web of the lowly MR2 Turbo whooping Skylines, RX-7's and Supra's but fooked if I can find them now. On a mission now! ;)

mr2 are quick make no mistake and have more grunt of the line due to weight, but 80+speeds and the 300zx will murder an mr2 FACT and a gts-t ;)

If it's purely speed you want there are plenty of alternative fast jap cars, but if you want the whole package, looks , equipment , comfort , pedigree and fun, the zeds you're only choice ;) It is a pure drivers car. does have it's vices regarding niggly problems, but most can be sorted easily nowadays quite cheaply.

Hang on a mo Gregster, you dust forget that I own (for my sins the Z) both and yeah I know what ya mean. 160 against a supposed 500bhp Cossie when mine (Z) was not even wide arsed does the trick and fooks off the competition every time. But the MR is a quick car for what it is, not like them fanny MG sh1te things or even the new MR-2 Drop Top. MR-2 Turbo was the only NON hairdresser car IMO. As for MX-5's? Kiddie Fiddlers drive them and that's FACT! LOL

P.S. GTS-T? Yeah OK whatever...I've had mine (MR) pull like a fooker upto 125 which is quite impressive considering it's still limited to 112 mph but that's on GPS with Road Angel so no bullsh1t figures there either.

whats done to the engine of your car? hp? if your engine was running big hp and still got done by the mr2 up till 120 then i'll stick with mr2s

do they pick up well fast on normal roads and back streets?
