Hi all,

I'm debating buying a 1989 ZX TT soon & using it as a daily driver....

Now i'm going from a Toyota Cynos import 1.5 NA to the 3L TT so running costs will obviously go up....

But my question is - how many of you run your ZX as a daily driver?

I currently drive about 20 miles to & from work daily but i'm going to start site visits soon.

Mate go to elephant.co.uk and add your mum or dad as a secondary driver and that knocks 100quid off straight away as there are more people dependant on the car, doesnt work with all ins but does with them.

See what they come up with.

;)

Bahh - can't insure her as a classic due this Zed being an import....

Adrian flux wants over a grand FC with a 300 quid excess.

Just a quick question? seeing as your discussing insurance aswell, can you insure a jap zed TT on classic insurance, im 27 with 2 years no claims, ive got 2 dr10's  both over 5 years old, which my insurance company say the dont count, but i thought they did! my premium is just over £900 with A-PLAN, with a £550 excess. i think my mileage limit is 8000.

you can insure a jap one on classic insurance...

i was 25 and you need to have it as a second car - also be a member of a club (here for example).

Ring heritage insurance ( a division on norton insurance)

Mine came up as about £410.... bargin

I have a TT and for £40 of optimax I get about 130-140 miles.

Not good.

Heritage quote - 580 quid FC limited to 6000 miles....

Asked how friendly they were to modifications as the current owner estimates around 400bhp....

another 50% increase on those mods.. so around 900 quid FC :hyper: :D

i drive a 91 non turbo auto daily, and though i'm a builder and it is TOTALLY impractical i won't use any other car, yes the fuel costs ARE high as i average 30-50 miles a day and after seeing 5th gear now only use shell optimax! and now the weather is changing its becoming more of a thrill ride with the back end walking at least 3 times every trip you won't regret using it everyday because no matter how bad your day or how much of an a hole the client your visiting is you'll arrive and leave with a smile on your face.... ooooooooh love my zed

What did you see on 5th gear about optimax mate??

Last week I got through £150 of Optimax and loved every second of it.

I didn't go any where special - the turbos loved the cold air.

Slippery roads sooooo much fun!

Maybe I could convince the council :smw: to spread diesel on the roads during the summer just so I can drive around every corner sideways! :headvswal
