Shafted battery! I had this with a Compaq that I bought years ago, calibrated the battery loads of times but it never worked and I couldn't be bothered to get a new one as I mostly used it on the mains anyway.

I bet ya laptop gets hot ;)

If there ain't enough cool air gettin to the underneath of ya laptop,

it will get HOT and shut down.

This may not be the problem, but it is on mine, so try raising the comp up

to let cool air under it, if it works, then thats the problem.

Do they sell Koyos for Laptops ;)

Yeah that's great but you shouldn't need a fan or any extra cooling for a CrapTop battery, they should do what they say on the tin which is why they are supposed to be portable, Mark trust me, bad battery mate! You got a warranty/guarantee with the Crappy?

Back to the laptop - take a look in the Event Log - it may give some clues as to why it's shutting down.
