Yesterday in school i was standing outside with a few of the lads(daily routine) and one of the lads told me that the irish government are basically banning modified cars.

 

Some rubbish about:

1.No spoilers over 10cm high unless standard.

2.No bonnet scoops.

3.No tinted windows.

4.No induction kits.

5.No aftermarket lights.

 

Someone please tell me what is going on because i dont know whether its true or not(dont read a paper until tomorrow and need to know before then)

Also i forgot number 6.No aftermarket exhaust systems

dont worry about , they cant enforce retrospective legislation on older vehicles unless they are prepared to foot the bill to re standardise the moded cars ..howevere theycan introduce new legislation making it very difficult to mod any vehicle from the day of the law passing....it is like this in switzerland ..very boring country full of chocolate eating liberals

Window tinting is already strictly controlled. Some police forces are easier going than others, But were i live if your tints restrict the minimum amount required when they test it with a light meter, You will get a ticket and the film will need to be removed. one of my customers had there car in at another garage in Essex and the Police arrived with a Goverment inspector and checked all the cars at the main dealer. her car was not allowed to be moved until the front 2 drop glass's had the film removed.3 other cars that were for sale were also hit with a ticket. :eek:

I just dont know what to think. The main reason im annoyed is the gov. aint thought about this enough. What about all the people like me. I want an old mini and i want it modded to bits but now i might not be able to do my dream

Dont worry about it often ideas get put out and sometimes it happens sometimes it dont :o

If you dont like there ideas lobby the goverment through Clubs & Assocciations
