I have recently discovered a problem with my auto box system. I have an HKS ALC fitted and it was working fine till a while ago. When I give it some, instead of the red light coming on gradually, it comes straight on. I have swapped the alc for a new one which made no difference. I have messed around with the connector for ages trying not to over tighten it in every way. I also have had a gear box rebuild a few months ago. I have also fitted a new TPS and set it correctly.

 

Also I get a 'line pressure solenoid' warning every now and again. I don't seem to get it with the ALC and harness removed.

 

It seems really intermittent. Nissan want £70 + vat to do some diagnostics on it?!?

 

Could it be the AT control unit playing up? And could the fuse to the solenoid be at fault? And should the guys at the auto box company be looking at this as it is under warranty (I would disconnect the ALC of course)?

Have you done the auto box diagnostic mate?-sounds if it could be either the box or ALC??-does the box behave normally?

Failing everything bud take it the rebuilders and let them have a looksee! ;)

'line pressure solenoid' fault can also be caused by low battery power, if battery is not low then it would seem likely that it is a bad connection problem, most likely at the alc/ auto box connection, however do a thorough check of the battery terminals and the body earth.

Cheers Jeff. I have a grounding kit fitted. Hmmm, Could this be the problem I wonder?? Could have been around that time?? The battery is cool thought.

 

I have messed around with the connector on the harness for ages and have never got the red light to behave properly. And the Auto box warning light is intermittant. The car drives fine, but not much coming from the ALC.

 

Oh, and I'll pick up that boot lid from you in the next couple of weeks. Is a saturday ok?
