I have only had my ZX since last friday and today the clutch was near total failure. I was only 3 miles from Zedworld in Tamworth. The ZX is under warranty with Autolink so all but £140 of the cost will be covered.

I dont know if i am either lucky to work 3 miles from Zed world or unlucky to have a clutch die on me in 5 days. But at least i will have a new clutch.

If they will let you (you may have to pay the difference) go for for an uprated clutch.

Something like an RPS sport (smithy sells them). They are not much more than a standard clutch but will handle a lot more power and last longer.

One of the wonderfull things you expect from a manual box:(

Russ has baked about 3 I think.

CLUTCH.............? whats one of them? :mac1:

Weaker, nope. Just cheaper and less power-robbing

Here is the reason for you non existing clutch! bit fried to say the least, in your defense it would appear to be the original unit and was most likely was ready to let go anytime, most of the friction plate was dust in the bottom of the bell housing.

See you tomorrow mate.

Zed world fitted a new clutch so my ZX chariot is back on the road. Zedworld were very flexible in sorting it all within a day with no prior appointment considering they are booked up for the next 6 or so weeks.

As commented in other parts of the forum my ZX seems a bit more zippy in the cold weather.

Hell NO Vin!! As an 'auto to manual' bod, my torque converter, even reconditioned, was still a PITA!!! Stage 3 clutch, 5 gears, loads better!!! :)

Drove her to work today and even though the clutch bites instantly, its fookin awesome!!!! Forgot how quick my zed was, at least 600bhp!!! :x:

glad its sorted m8

told ya jeff would sort the car

impressed he did it so quick though
