After searching in vain i am now getting to thinking maybee i should hold fire until spring next year as winter is coming fast. What doesnt help is that i have been thinking of upgrading my stereo again! in the house, BUT the setup i am thinking of buying is going to cost roughy 4500 quid. I think your sig says it all for me buddy!!

My mate might be selling his SWB man TT soon........could be worth it for you as its in excellent condition

Check his rides section, his username is a5ian300zx

Fas

:mac1: thats not nice dude :mac1:

he wasn't calling you a no brainer - just saying the decision doesn't need any thought/ use of your brain... buy a z, OBVIOUSLY!! You might get a different opinion on the whathi-fi forums though ;)

£4.5k on upgrading stereo or a Zed......you really have to ask !?!?

Now is good time to buy, cheaper during winter months.

It would want to be a home cinema for that money. Then when the new technology comes out next year what do you do. If you get the Z it will never go out of fashion

No its 2 valve monoblocks, a valve pre amp. Second hand speakers that were 3500 2 yrs ago for 1k !! A valve cd player, and a michell gyrodec record player with Manticore Magician arm, and a brand new Regis Elyse cartridge "this alone is worth 2500 quid.

Some of its new and some second hand, to but it all new would cost 10k easy, this kit holds its money. Wheras z, buy for 5k, spend 5 k in over 2 years and then sell for 3k .

But you know you would have hours of enjoyment with the Z

Agree totally, but its the hours of worrying if it is going to blow up next time i get in that bothers me

I know what you mean. I must admit that I worry about mine due to some of the horror stories.

But if it itcosted 3.5k two years ago, now 1k. What happends after one year? you have to pay 500 to get rid of it.

No thats just the speakers ken, they are big and the guys wife is making him get rid of them

It sounds to me like you really want to buy the stereo, so go with what you want to do. If you post a question like this on a Z owners forum then expect us all to say a Z.

Buy a Zed and fit a decent ICE setup in it instead ;)

I got a ZX TT manual imported by Group 20 (now out of business) for £5750. I was lucky to get one in very good condition with 39,000 miles (still has original exhausts). The whole process took 3 1/2 months but i am glad i waited. My ZX had a full service, timing belt, oil change, oil filter, air filter, new platinum spark plugs, oil pump, oil filter, left intercooler, speed de-limited, speedo converted to MPH. And comes with a 6 month warranty from http://www.autolinkuk.co.uk. Autolink were up front and honest. They found a 5000rpm limit problem and diligently sorted it eventually with a new intercooler.

To begin with i was told about ZX's that went through Japanese auctions. And there are loads of mint ZX's in Japan to be had.

Im a very happy camper :)
