doing fuel comparisions for unleaded/Optimax/BP Ultimate

Featured Replies

ooh..that will be interesting. Although wish they had included the new Tesco's (esso) 99 Ron fuel

Yep, Optimax was the Daddy, by a country mile !

Some say..."its just your imagination" Optimax dont work.....I have no doubts my car runs quicker and crisper on the stuff. Better so than Tesco 99ron which i dont feel any difference with lately?

you wont notice any difference with normal (?) driving at all but it will preserve your engine..depends what you want from the car i guess.

I doubt anyone would notice such an insignificant gain in power in what is already a powerful car.....do you?

Definatly noticable for me, perhaps less noticable in a UK spec as its not mapped for the higher RON as standard.

Was also very noticable in all my previous performance cars.

I missed the program...

how were the tests performend?

what were the results?

What was the test car ?

Was it just done on "feel" or did they do timings ?

Did they test MPG differences too ?

I missed the program...

It's on again tomorrow night (Sorry tonight - just seen what the time is!! :D ) Tuesday at 11.55PM!!!

Did notice a difference when I had my standard ECU in my Z and when dynoed with optimax it was making 333BHP and with ESSO Super 97 it was making 326Bhp..

I never doubted Optimax, I run the MR on it and the car does feel more responsive. Why would you doubt a fuel that Ferrari endorse? ;)

i had a carlton 24v 3.0L and always run it on unleaded then they got optimax at the garage by me, i filled up with optimax took it for a spin and shit did it make a differance a LOT more pulling power it now spun in 1,2,3, gears where before only in 1st and 2nd. i didn't beleave it worked untill i used it. no differance to my zed though but hopefully when it comes back from ryan it will be runnig right

Never noticed anything different with any of the super unleadeds I used in the zed. The only one was Sommerfields super, the Zed idled a bit smoother.

Sure a lot of it is in peoples minds.

Fifth gear - fuel test results

Scooby - Unleaded

235bhp

232 ib/ft

scooby - optimax

249bhp

258 ib/ft

and what that also does'nt show is the Improved responsiveness and MPG increase.....oh and the lessened risk of detting.

Nah you spilt it on the forecourt whilst filling up, and it melted your tyres :p

I only ever fill my 200 up with Optimax as the chip is mapped for it. The car would probably det if I used farmers petrol.

i think your right, i mean lets face it:

who's gonna notice a 7bhp increase on a 320+ bhp car?!?!?
