Recent update caused all sorts of havoc with java (like running at 99% CPU the whole bloody time!) Ive gone back to old version and all is ok. So...anyone tell me how you turn off auto updates on azureus?

I personally prefer bitcomet...uses no resources although web browing becomes very slow when bitcomet is open????? Don't really have any problems with azureus, but prefer bitcomet. Then again i in no way condone downloading illegal music/films/software ;)

Have you made sure you've canceled the upload of all your downloaded files?

Me neither, its not big or clever!

azureus.. now theres a fkn pain in the arse!!! and it lets all sorts of java based crap get in also..

ditch it..

bt++ is good or bit comet..

Yeah I use Azeureus aswell Massive on my Bros recommendation but fooked if I can do bugger all when it's running so now I just run it when I'm out or overnight!

Which makes me wonder, the PC sh1te I'm using at the mo has only got a 350Mhz Proc but me Bro has a 3Ghz jobby with a Gig of RAM (Random @rse Dori Memory) and says that he can't do f\/ck all when it's running either! Eh?

Download managers are always gonna be a pain on PC's IMO.

neither azureus not bitcomet have any effect on the performance of my pc, i use bitcomet though because it seems to work better, azureus has an impressive array of buttons to press but when it comes to donwloading its crap

"Azeureus" totally rocks as long as yer machines setup properly.. fastest least hassle torrent ripper going .. I will admit it's a pain to get working but stick with it cause I'm sure the bitcommet types are up to somthing on your machine behind your back..

Rant over !!!

Sniffing yer HDD! ROFL

up to something? like what lol!

Yep !!! my server machine got hacked day or so after installing it.. Was fine for about 12 months before ..

Yeah mate, I got a nasty virus the day after installing it! Not sure that was down to Azeureus but all the same still got a nasty.

Also not overly convinced that even though you disable sharing that you actually are, I find that the best thing to do is download stuff to a temp area and then move it as soon as it's dowloaded. Yeah I remove the torrents as soon as they are complete but I'm pretty convinced that there is still some skull duggery going on in the background in terms of sharing!

Well, its not really such a big thing anymore, but still pretty clever ;) I mean clever how they always seem to find a way around security measures....not that its a good thing of course ;) I mean I just LOVE paying a small fortune for music and films, makes me feel at one with myself....and a one-to-one with my bank manager :D

http://www.easynews.com does 20GB of 200kbit+ downloads for £6 a month. P2P gets on my tits.

Nah don't pay for it, you just have to find the right torrents....i quite happily download at 200k/s from bit torrent a lot of the time!

torrentreactor.net is far more comprehensive IMHO...although it does depend much on what you are looking for. Also http://isohunt.com/ but you will need daemon tools to mount the images unless you want to burn the iso images onto CD
