Best advice is to get onto the British Mountaneering club/council and get their advice on clothing, where to get it etc.

 

Make sure you buy the boots well in advance and wear tehm, you wont want to be walking in a pair of shoes that are not comfy, or worse still give you blisters.

 

A blister at that height can kill you.

 

oh, if you can, go see the Sherpa Tensing museum and hotel. Its old british colonial at its best.
